Medical Billing Rates Charged For No Show Patients
No shows appointments mean that there is no revenue coming in and also there is idle time for your doctors.
A friends personal opinion claims that charging the patients for no-shows doesn’t work because the patient will not pay, and if they go to small claims court, it rarely is enforceable.
In this youtube video, a medical billing director of operations examines billing their patients for skipped visits.
Verify with Medicare insurance, state Medicaid programs along with insurance carriers to find out if charging a no show fee is permitted.
This is what some practices are charging for no show fees. I have seen doctors ask for any where from $10.00 to $25.00 for the ill visit, $50.00 to perhaps $75.00 for the well examine or physical examination and even seen them all the way to $125.00 should they skip a treatment.
